Dr Shyam Barr is the author of Educate to Self-Regulate, an evidence-informed guide to nurturing self-regulated learners in the classroom and across a school. A consultant, coach and speaker specialising in metacognition and self-regulated learning, Shyam has 17 years in education as a teacher, leader, researcher and advisor. He is a Professional Associate at the University of Canberra, researching professional learning approaches that support teachers’ thinking and practice, and holds a PhD in Cognitive Psychology and Educational Practice. The book draws on his teaching experience, research studies and school partnerships. Shyam is one of the authors of the Expert Author Community, where he wrote alongside others turning serious ideas into meaningful books.
