Gayle Dallaston is the author of Garden On The Verge, a practical guide to resident-planted native verge gardens as a fast, low-cost way to add urban shade and biodiversity. An author, researcher and community advocate, Gayle has studied what makes community-led greening succeed, and what makes it stall, since planting her own verge garden in 2017. Her work sits where urban ecology, local government collaboration and community action meet, and the book grew from that experience and wide research - including the neighbour disputes and differing expectations of shared space that stop projects before they start. Gayle is part of the Expert Author Community, where she wrote alongside others turning serious ideas into meaningful books.
