Anne Gleeson

E A Gleeson is a poet, essayist, and speaker whose work explores family, identity, place, and the quiet emotional landscapes that shape a life. Raised on a soldier settlement farm in the Western District of Victoria on Eastern Maar Country, her writing carries a deep attentiveness to land, memory, and belonging. Her poetry has been published widely in literary journals and presented across Australia, Ireland, the USA, and Estonia. This is her fourth poetry collection. Alongside her writing, Gleeson has worked in end-of-life care, public relations, and education—experiences that inform her sensitivity to voice, loss, dignity, and human complexity. She continues to mentor emerging poets, design and lead meaningful funeral ceremonies, and combine travel with poetry performance and discovery. Her work is marked by restraint, clarity, and a refusal to reduce lived experience to sentiment or stereotype.
